www.kerpoof.com evaluation

1. The name and URL of the Web 2.0 tool you are evaluating.

http://www.kerpoof.com/

2. What can the Web 2.0 tool can do ? The tool can make a movie, make a picture, make a card, make a story, make a drawing or you can just doodle on it.

3. What do you think it could be used for in the classroom ?

It can be used to get students comfortable with the computer and it's various components. Students can get practice dragging and clicking with the mouse. It could also help students get comfortable with using graphics and other tools on the site.

4. What you like about the tool?
It was easy to drag and click over objects onto the document that you are working on.

5. What could be improved about the tool?
The characters on the site looked a little dated, I'm not sure students would be interested in the various objects displayed. Also, the program requested that you install the adobe flash player which was only supposed to take 2 minutes to upload but the process was way longer and never fully installed. It was difficult and time consuming to figure out how to install the flash player to get the program to work.

6. Would you recommend it ?
I would not recommend it because it doesn't seem to have any practical purposes for the classroom and I believe there are other more user friendly websites on the web that can be of more use for the classroom.
7. How many stars would you give it out of 5 ?
I would give it 2.5 stars because it has no true educational purpose in my opinion.

  1. I agree with no real educational purpose in a mainstream classroom. However, I think that students with Autism will help them with their motor and sensory skills. In one autistic classroom I worked for, they used this website to help one student get use to working with their dominant hand as well as motor skills. It was very interesting to see how this website that allowed this student doodle, helped improve his motor skills.

  3. I also thought that the characters were a little dated. I like the site overall. I think it would work best with K-2.

  4. Hey Every woman. I agree that the site would be better for younger kids if it would be used at all in school. I like the make a story feature. That would be something you could do with pre K and K.
